Sitework takeoff software, free in your browser

Measure paving and landscape areas, curb and utility lengths, and count site structures on any civil plan, and roll up quantities for your sitework bid, all in the browser with nothing to install. TRACEBUILD does real site takeoff on your own device.

Free while TRACEBUILD Lite is in early access. No download, no credit card.

What you can take off

How sitework takeoff works

  1. Open your civil drawings. Drag the site and utility plans into the browser. Nothing uploads, nothing installs.
  2. Set the scale. Click a known dimension and type its length, or pick a standard scale. Every measurement then reads in real feet.
  3. Measure, count, and detect. Trace paving areas and curb and utility runs, count structures, and use the Volume tool for earthwork. Detect Runs groups site line-work to give you a head start.
  4. Export. Send areas, lengths, counts, and volumes to Excel or CSV for your bid.

Built for sitework estimating

Areas, lengths, and counts

Measure paving and landscape square footage, curb and utility linear feet, and structure counts in one place, with running subtotals.

Earthwork volume

Outline an area and enter a depth, and the built-in Volume tool computes the volume on the drawing (area by depth).

Works on any PDF

Vector or scanned civil sheets, with text search and OCR to find legends and utility notes across the set.

Estimate-ready export

Clean CSV and Excel output that drops straight into the way you already bid sitework.

Common questions

Can I take off paving and site areas?

Yes. Measure asphalt, concrete, and landscape areas in square feet to scale, and Detect Spaces can outline enclosed areas to give you a head start.

Can I measure curb, sidewalk, and utility runs?

Yes. Measure curb, gutter, sidewalk, and storm, sanitary, and water lines as linear lengths to scale, and Detect Runs groups site line-work by pen style to speed it up.

Can I get earthwork volume?

Yes. TRACEBUILD Lite includes a Volume tool: outline an area and enter a depth, and it computes the volume in place. Area times depth gives cubic feet, so divide by 27 for cubic yards, and it exports with your other quantities.

Is TRACEBUILD really free for sitework takeoff?

TRACEBUILD Lite runs free in the browser during early access, with markup, measurement, and takeoff included. A Windows app, Pro, adds pricing and on-device AI and is coming soon.
