Plumbing takeoff software, free in your browser

Count fixtures, measure pipe runs to scale, and roll up quantities for your plumbing bid, all on any PDF plan set in the browser. TRACEBUILD reads the drawing's own service tags so pipe takeoff goes faster, with nothing to install.

Free while TRACEBUILD Lite is in early access. No download, no credit card.

What you can take off

How plumbing takeoff works

  1. Open your plumbing drawings. Drag the P-sheets into the browser. Nothing uploads, nothing installs.
  2. Set the scale. Click a known dimension and type its length, or pick a standard scale. Every measurement then reads in real feet.
  3. Count and measure. Drop counts on fixtures and trace pipe runs. Detect Runs reads service tags like 2" CW to group pipe by system for you.
  4. Export. Send fixture counts and pipe lengths to Excel or CSV for your bid.

Built for plumbing estimating

Count fixtures fast

The count tool tallies fixtures with running subtotals by type. AI auto-counting of repeated symbols is coming in the Pro app.

Pipe read by service tag

Detect Runs reads the drawing's own tags (like 2" CW or 4" SAN) to group runs into pipe classes by system.

Works on any PDF

Vector or scanned P-sheets, with text search and OCR to find fixture schedules and riser notes across the set.

Estimate-ready export

Clean CSV and Excel output that drops straight into the way you already bid plumbing work.

Common questions

Can I count plumbing fixtures?

Yes. The count tool tallies water closets, lavatories, sinks, floor drains, water heaters, and more, with running subtotals by type. AI auto-counting of repeated symbols is coming in the Pro app.

Does it measure pipe runs by size?

Yes. Measure domestic water, sanitary, vent, and gas runs as linear lengths to scale, and Detect Runs reads the drawing's own service tags (such as 2" CW) to identify each run's size and group pipe by system.

Is TRACEBUILD really free for plumbing takeoff?

TRACEBUILD Lite runs free in the browser during early access, with markup, measurement, and takeoff included. A Windows app, Pro, adds pricing and on-device AI and is coming soon.

Can I export my plumbing takeoff to Excel?

Yes. Fixture counts and pipe lengths export to CSV and Excel so they drop straight into your estimate. See the electrical takeoff or drywall takeoff.
